DJ Frankie D broke into the Philly club scene showcasing his talents at a Club called PT's at Front and Market Sts. Spinning at other Clubs such as Club Metro, Binny and Flynn's, The Riverdeck Cafe and Touche', his mixes could be heard over nightclub sounds systems for over ten years. Initially inspired by Old School DJ's Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambataa, Mantronix and others, DJ Frankie D developed a style of his own and made a name for himself on the Philly Club Network in the 80's and 90's. Playing styles varying from Freestyle, House, Disco, Progressive and Alternative music, DJ Frankie D catered to a wide range of musical tastes, as he packed dancefloors across the city. During the late 90's music went under drastic changes changing the Philly Club Scene forever. Knowing the days of the Old School DJ, where having a large vinyl collection and a set of Technics 1200MK2's, were coming to an end, DJ Frankie D focused his attention to other ventures away from the Club Scene. Never loosing a passion for the music or the skill and talent required to spin records professionally, DJ Frankie D has acquired a renewed interest in the DJ scene. With a little practice and familiarizing himself with the new technology available, DJ Frankie D has returned to his roots and remains active on Podomatic, displaying his mixes for all to enjoy and groove to !
